Toyota Technician Institute in China Marks 20 Years

Shenyang, China, Sept 3, 2010 - (ACN Newswire) - Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC) announces that the Liaoning Toyota Jinbei Technician Institute (the Technical Training Center of Toyota Jin Bei of China Automotive Industry until 2009) held a ceremony here today to mark the 20th anniversary of the institute's establishment.

Approximately 300 people attended the ceremony, including numerous officials from China's Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, Ministry of Education and National Development and Reform Commission, and from Liaoning Province and Shenyang City, as well as the institute's managers, instructors, and students. At the ceremony, TMC Managing Officer Satoru Mouri said: "I am certain that as the Chinese automotive industry undergoes dramatic expansion and development, the Liaoning Toyota Jinbei Technician Institute will hold an increasingly significant position."

The institute was established in September 1990 by Shenyang Jin Bei Automotive Industry Corporation Ltd. and TMC, with counsel from the China National Automobile Industry Corporation. The institute's aim is to cultivate highly trained specialists who can play leading roles in automobile production in China. TMC actively supports the institute by providing research and training equipment and accepting trainers and students for further training in Japan.

Based on its performance and capabilities, the institute received certification in October 2009 from Liaoning Province for more-advanced instructor training. As of 2010, the institute has produced more than 19,000 graduates, most of whom are now active in the Chinese automotive industry.

TMC and its local affiliates aim to be good corporate citizens and are committed to carrying out social contribution activities in China focused on human-resource development, environmental protection and traffic safety.
