MetLife Hong Kong Wins Corporate Citizenship Award for the Third Consecutive Year
Recognizing its continuous contributions made to the community

HONG KONG, Dec 7, 2017 - (ACN Newswire) - MetLife Hong Kong* has won the Corporate Citizenship Award in the prestigious BENCHMARK Wealth Management Awards for the third consecutive year, recognizing its continuous contributions to the Hong Kong community. This achievement follows MetLife Hong Kong's recognition as a "Caring Company" by the Hong Kong Council of Social Service.

Mr. Lee Wood, Chief Executive Officer of MetLife Hong Kong, said, "It's heartening to be recognized year after year for our work in Hong Kong communities by such prominent organizations. Giving back to society is an integral and cherished part of MetLife Hong Kong's corporate culture. We fulfill our civic commitments through various CSR programs and sponsorships of local charities and non-profit organizations. This is certainly a tradition we will build upon in the years ahead as we continue to promote a healthier, better and more inclusive society."

In 2017, MetLife Hong Kong again made significant contributions by promoting literacy. Most recently, Mr. Wood, on behalf of MetLife Hong Kong, took part in Hong Kong's Fastest Executive Race 2017, in support of the Room to Read's Literacy Program. This program empowers children to gain the basic reading and writing skills they need to start their educational journey off right. The funds raised by MetLife Hong Kong in the Fastest Executive Race 2017 will make education possible for nearly 250 children in low-income countries around the world.

Mr. Wood, added, "I am so glad to see our employees and agents being truly engaged in this meaningful program. We are proud of the contributions being made by our employees, agents and MetLife Hong Kong, which bring books and literacy to children around the world. This reflects our commitment to ensuring a future in which we can continue helping people and communities navigate life together."

Hong Kong's Fastest Executive Race 2017 was held on December 1, 2017, and attracted over thirty business leaders racing against each other on a 13 km route from Pok Fu Lam Reservoir to Admiralty, all in support of Room to Read.
