Launching by end of June this year, with the Pompei Transforex Card users can recharge the card from the minimum amount of US$500 up to US$30,000 (ordinary card) or US$50,000 (gold card). Target customers are high spending PRC residents, especially visitors to Hong Kong and those who travel overseas. The Pompei Transforex Card offers a wide range of applications. Apart from allowing purchase at 40,000,000 MasterCard merchants around the world, users can also withdraw cash at any automated teller machine with the MasterCard logo in Hong Kong and overseas. One special feature of the Pompei Transforex Card is convenience of purchase. Pre-registration of cardholders' personal information or complicated application and approval procedures are not required. A simple registration of the individual's or corporate name is sufficient, making it perfect for personal use, or as a corporate or personal gift. The Group expects that about 10,000 cards will be issued at the first stage.
An added benefit is that cardholders can enjoy a discount when they purchase at Pompei's retailer stores and other participating merchants including Hong Kong Airlines and Hong Thai Travel Services Limited under the HNA Group. Other potential participating businesses include air ticket and hotel agencies in the PRC such as Xinhuanet and Caissa are also in negotiations with Pompei. In addition, Pompei plans to debut a tax refund service with HNA Transforex Currency Exchange Company Limited that consumers can handle tax refund in Hong Kong after spending in European countries. The Group is now in negotiation with counter parties and the foresaid service is expected to launch in the second half of 2012.
Pompei, as the first strategic partner in alliance with Transforex Hong Kong to issue electronic travellers cheques, will offer recharge services to PRC users who come to Hong Kong for shopping through recharging machines at Pompei stores. The Pompei Transforex Card can also be purchased and recharged at more than 40 Transforex Hong Kong sales points located in 17 provinces and cities in China including Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin and Shenzhen.
