| Further Attests to the Group's R&D Capability |
Hong Kong, June 13, 2012 - (ACN Newswire) - Perception Digital Holdings Limited ("Perception Digital" or "the Group", HKSE: 1822), which specializes in providing technological solutions for consumer electronic products, including mobile, multimedia, internet connectivity and well-being technologies, announced that it has entered into an agreement with a PRC-based business partner to develop a smartphone for an American mobile operator, with the first shipment expected to be made by the end of June.
According to the agreement, Perception Digital will be responsible for the design of an Android-based smartphone. This phone features a slim design and will weigh just 114 gram, which includes a 3.2 inch display. The Group will receive income in the form of royalties and development fees derived from the scope of work and also the amount of products sold, it is expected that approximately 300,000 smartphones will be shipped during 2012. Leveraging the technical knowhow of the Group, especially involving Android technology that it gained from developing several products, including such smartphones as Vulkano and PDXtraTV, it is able to meet the high standards required by international operators while achieving a relative cost advantage. The smartphones will be on sale in various U.S. retail stores via the American mobile operator.
