London / Shanghai, July 26, 2012 - (ACN Newswire) - The leadership of datacenter and cloud businesses in China will meet in Shanghai 1-2 November 2012, in a new international forum researched and produced by consulting firm BroadGroup (www.datacentreschina.com).
Growth in datacenters has been fast paced in China. Research by BroadGroup, suggests that the deployment of large scale cloud computing centers, disaster recovery and backup requirements and outsourcing will boost demand for reliable facilities. Regional markets are increasingly well positioned to exploit the datacenter needs of financial service companies and a number of datacenters for securities, insurance and banking firms are already under construction.
Reflecting these opportunities, the conference programme includes the first China datacenter leadership roundtable, a market perspective of China, with current trends in demand across the region and growth forecasts all based on new research. Topics featured include datacenter finance and investment, renewable energy in China, modular datacenters, fibre connectivity and cabling systems and cloud evolution. Data protection and security also feature in the programme.
An Energy Workshop will focus on reducing datacenter power costs, and innovations in power technologies that will support a reduction in power consumption. The event will also be supported by an industry exhibition.
"China's datacenter markets are currently experiencing fast paced development," commented Steve Wallage, at BroadGroup Consulting. "Demand at present is being driven primarily from local enterprises but it is important for new build to adhere to standards that will attract international firms entering China who wish to outsource to third party datacenters, offering high levels of security and resilience as well renewable energy resources. This event presents an invaluable gateway to China's growing datacenter and cloud markets."
Datacenter markets worldwide have shown demonstrable growth over the past 3-5 years and have attracted substantial investment, according to BroadGroup research. More than USD19 billion dollars was transacted in M&A and funding rounds in the sector last year. These figures still discount the investments in build out worldwide, and acquisitions occurring in software, technology, and energy innovation to address the datacenter sector.
The event is supported by the Data Center Industry Alliance of China. Datacentres.com News is the official publication for the event.
