| Appliance-based Consolidation Eases Management and Reduces Operational Costs |
Redwood Shores, CA, Sept 26, 2012 - (ACN Newswire) - Imperva (NYSE: IMPV), a pioneer and a leader of a new category of business security solutions for critical applications and high-value data in the data center, announced today a collaboration with Cisco to streamline deployment and management of the SecureSphere Web Application Firewall (WAF) in Cisco virtual switching environments. The interoperability of SecureSphere WAF with the Cisco Nexus 1110/1010 virtual service appliances is designed to simplify and accelerate deployment of networking and security services in a virtual and private cloud environment. Specifically, this solution is designed to provide separation of duties between the SecureSphere WAF administrator and server administrators and offload security processing from virtual server clusters to a dedicated Nexus 1110/1010 appliance.

The Cisco Nexus 1110/1010 appliance eases the deployment of networking and security services in a virtual environment while providing Cisco NX-OS based administrative interface. The Cisco Nexus 1110/1010 also includes high availability features such as restart-on-failure and device management tools that maximize uptime and improve operations. As a dedicated hardware platform, the Cisco Nexus 1110/1010 appliance does not affect the performance or the availability of virtual server clusters. This solution is designed to enable organizations with virtual server environments to be able to quickly deploy the SecureSphere Web Application Firewall on Cisco Nexus 1110/1010 platform without needing to re-architect their virtual server environment.

- Satisfy PCI 6.6 compliance requirements
- Ease deployment of Web application security in a multi-vendor hypervisor environment
- Provide separation of duties for network or security administrators and server administrators
- Leverage Cisco Nexus 1110/1010 virtual service blade management capabilities to manage and monitor the SecureSphere WAF
- Reduce management overhead by consolidating multiple network services on a single platform

The solution will enter beta in Q4CY2012.
