DETROIT, MI, June 19, 2013 - (ACN Newswire) - A commitment to managing quality and cost through operational excellence has earned AAM a 2012 Supplier Award for Best Powertrain by Beijing Benz Automotive Company (BBAC), a joint venture between Beijing Automotive Group and Daimler AG.

AAM was one of only six suppliers to receive a 2012 Supplier Award at BBAC's 2013 Key Supplier Day Conference in April. AAM Asia operations manufacture premium independent rear drive axles (IRDAs) with AAM's PowerLite(R) housings and several efficient hypoid gear ratios to support multiple engine and transmission configurations. These IRDAs are featured in the Mercedes-Benz C-Class and E-Class vehicles for the region.
