Bakery&Pastry2014 Serves Up a Winning Recipe

SINGAPORE, July 4, 2013 - (ACN Newswire) - From ovens and equipment to ingredients, decorative elements, moulds and packaging, Bakery&Pastry2014 is a mecca for industry's baking and patisserie needs. Held at the Singapore Expo from 8 - 11 April 2014, Bakery&Pastry2014 serves as a one-stop shop and biennial meeting ground for industry professionals from across Asia to not only source for the latest products, but to also network and display their skills on an international platform.

Into its 11th edition, Bakery&Pastry has established itself as the region's leading industry trade event that attracts visitors from over all over Asia. Buyers from major establishments such as BreadTalk, Carlton Hotel Singapore, Gardenia, JW Marriot Korea, Kinh Do Bakery from Vietnam, Raffles Hotel Singapore and St. Regis Hotel Singapore visited the event's last edition held in 2012.

A host of top international and local suppliers will transform the Singapore Expo into a buzzing global market place of bakery and pastry products that cater for all aspects of the preparation, processing and presentation.

Providing for a full spectrum of bakery and patisserie needs

Easily categorised into four segments - namely ingredients, preparation and processing equipment, presentation accessories, and display fittings, Bakery&Pastry2014 will feature a host of returning as well as first time exhibitors.

Debuting at this edition is a group pavilion organised by the Japan Bakery & Confectionery Machinery Manufacturers' Association (JBCM). Other inaugural exhibitors include Backaldrin, DLA Naturals, GCB Specialty Chocolates, Guangzhou Hoyo Machinery, Louis Francois, PT. Sinar Meadow, Rhythm and Wieka 2 Plus.

First time exhibitor and premium confectionary packaging specialist Rhythm says, "We chose Bakery&Pastry2014 because we would like to reinforce our position in the Far East and Oceania regions. We aim to build closer relationships with local distributors in the upcoming Bakery&Pastry2014."

Rosy Industry Outlook

In 2012, Asia-Pacific accounted for 12 per cent of the global baked goods retail volume sales. Largely driven by surge in sales in this region, the global bakery products market is forecast to reach US$447 billion by the 2017, according to an industry report.

With increased living standards and economic wealth, Asian consumers are demanding novel experiences and value for money from Western-style baked foods, with products being increasingly adapted to embrace local flavours and preferences.

Patisserie Skills on Display at Bakery&Pastry2014

Held alongside Bakery&Pastry2014 is the Asian Pastry Cup - the crown jewel of competitions for all pastry chefs across Asia. Founded in 2006, the prestigious competition is not just a stage for the region's top pastry chefs to display their talent, it also encourages young pastry chefs to achieve greater heights and inspire new talent to join the world of pastry craftsmanship. In addition, the Asian Pastry Cup serves as the official competition at which four Asian teams are pre-selected to compete at the World Pastry Cup in Lyon, France.
