SINGAPORE, July 9, 2013 - (ACN Newswire) - The Spikes Asia Festival of Creativity is pleased to announce the introduction of a new competition. The Spikes Asia Student Creative Award for Print will provide an exciting platform for students to kick-start their future careers and gain recognition amongst some of the most respected creatives across the region.
The competition which launches today, Tuesday 9 July, is free to enter, and is open to all APAC students up to 25 years of age, in full-time education. Answering to a brief set by UNICEF, the world's leading organisation working to protect child rights and development, students will have until Saturday 13 August to produce an original Poster which will be judged by a panel of international industry leaders, members of the Spikes Asia juries.
Full entry details and the brief set by UNICEF are now available on the Sikes website. All entries must be submitted online by 13 August.
The shortlisted entries into the competition will be exhibited to all delegates during the Spikes Asia Festival of Creativity (15-17 September 2013). The winner will be honoured at the Spikes Asia awards ceremony on Tuesday 17 September.
"This is a truly unmissable opportunity for students to showcase their skills to the creative industry's key decision-makers whilst benefiting a deserving non-for-profit organisation," says Steve Latham, Spikes Asia's Director of Talent & Training. "Spikes Asia is very much committed to nurturing and promoting the creative talent of the younger generation, so by launching the Spikes Asia Student Creative Award for Print we want to encourage students to participate in this valuable competition that could ultimately be the launch of a career."
Students from the following countries are eligible to enter the competition: Australia, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Brunei, Cambodia, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Laos, Malaysia, Maldives, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nepal, New Zealand, Pakistan, The Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Tasmania, Thailand, Vietnam, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan.
Students wishing to attend Spikes Asia 2013 can take advantage of the special student registration package which offers a discounted fee to students aged 23 and under, while providing access to Festival activities including seminars, workshops, exhibitions and networking.
