Relief Efforts in Tohoku Continue for Robert Walters
-- Over 43% of Robert Walters Japan staff have volunteered in Tohoku with the Group
-- Volunteers were tasked with clearing debris from farmland for local families
-- Interested businesses and individuals are encouraged to contact ReRoots to get involved

TOKYO, Oct 25, 2012 - (JCN Newswire) - Robert Walters PLC (LSE: RWA), Japan's leading international recruitment consultancy, recently organised volunteer trips for staff on June 22-23 and September 28-29, 2012 to continue its relief efforts in Tohoku. The Tohoku region in northern Japan was one of the hardest hit areas following the March 2011 earthquake and tsunami. Since March 2011, over 43% of Robert Walters Japan staff have volunteered in the region during four company-sponsored trips.

In association with the non-profit organisation ReRoots Japan, Robert Walters volunteers were tasked with clearing debris from the March tsunami contaminating farmland for local families. Over the course of the relief trips much of the soil was recovered for use, a task that would have taken over one year for the families to complete on their own.

Robert Walters is extremely proud that over 43% of our staff in Japan have volunteered in the Tohoku region with the Group. The high level of involvement of our staff reinforces Robert Walters' commitment to corporate social responsibility (CSR). In addition to the Tohoku relief efforts, our support extends to a number of other charity initiatives including food banks, corporate sponsorships and local children's homes.

To attend or to find out how your organisation can get involved, please contact ReRoots at reroots311@yahoo.jp, visit the ReRoots volunteer website or contact your recruitment consultant.
