Video Interview with Fung Global Institute Chairman Victor Fung |
HONG KONG, Dec 23, 2013 - (ACN Newswire) - The "Bali Package" adopted at the WTO Ministerial Meeting in Indonesia earlier this month represents a "turning point for multilateralism," said Dr Victor Fung, Group Chairman of the Fung Group and Founding Chairman of the Fung Global Institute.
Ahead of the Asian Financial Forum 2014, Dr Fung said that the initiative puts Hong Kong's role back at centre stage as a spokesman for multilateralism, and makes Hong Kong the intermediary for northern and southern Asian flows of trade, people, investment, information and knowledge.
"What happened at the WTO Trade ministers' meeting in Bali was an extremely significant event for the world," Dr Fung said. "I would say it's a turning point for multilateralism."
Dr Fung's interview, on 19 December, can be viewed via the link below. He also discussed the implications of decisions reached at the recent China Third Plenum. The AFF is organised by the HKTDC and the Hong Kong SAR Government.
