CommunicAsia, Singapore, June 16, 2009 - (ACN Newswire) - Two major Internet resource management bodies in Asia will exhibit how the "Net" works for 650 million internet users in the region. DotAsia, the ".Asia" domain registry, alongside with APNIC, the regional IP address resource center, will showcase their services in CommunicAsia 2009, the biggest ICT industry event in Asia held in the Singaporean Expo from the 16th to 19th of June.
Ching Chiao, VP at the DotAsia Organisation said, "DotAsia is thrilled to participate in the CMMA event with APNIC, and APIA (Asia Pacific Internet Association). Asia not only has the largest Internet user population in the world, it is also the fastest growing. At DotAsia, we believe it is important to be engaged with an event like CMMA so that participants can get to know how the Internet is being developed and managed in the region. Most importantly, how people can be involved too" DotAsia plans to demonstrate how domain names can benefit people and businesses, especially SMEs in the region.
Paul Wilson, Director-General of Asia Pacific Network Information Centre, "APNIC is excited to see the range of new and dynamic technologies on show at CommunicAsia. That so many of these innovative solutions rely on the Internet and IP addressing reinforces the need to carefully manage the remaining pool of unallocated IPv4 addresses and for the industry to proactively plan for the deployment of IPv6 network connectivity in the near term."
DotAsia is a not-for-profit organization with a mandate to promote Internet development and adoption in Asia. Through its work in various community projects, DotAsia continues to create social and economic value across Asia.

ISIF.Asia (http://www.isif.asia) provides grant funds to foster ICT innovation in Asia.

DotAsia, meanwhile, launched the KeepClicking.Asia (http://www.keepclicking.asia) social platform to share relevant news about ".Asia" and the Asian Internet marketplace, and also teamed up with Asian Business Radio for a series of free online radio podcasts at ListenUp.Asia (http://www.listenup.asia).
