Ecquaria at Inaugural iGov Global Exchange with 'Business 360'; Empowering a One-Stop, Unified Perspective for Businesses and Government

CommunicAsia, Singapore, June 18, 2009 - (ACN Newswire) - Government leadership plays a key role in fostering a vibrant infocomm ecosystem that helps drive economic and social growth. In the current global recession, this role becomes ever more important. It is widely recognized that countries which successfully move up their ranking in terms of ease of doing business are those which have invested in infocomm to transform their business environments.

Today, Singapore is ranked tops as the world's most business-friendly country for three consecutive years since 2007, according to the "The Doing Business Report 2009" by the World Bank.

Thanks to the foresight of the government in its continuous investments in infocomm to empower businesses with the launch of the Online Business Licensing Service, OBLS in 2004 and BizFinx (Business Financials in XBRL) to help cut red tapes and to boost transparency and governance in financial reporting.

Ecquaria is a Singapore-based software infrastructure solutions focused on delivering innovative integrated government (iGov) solutions to our customers worldwide since 1998. It helped design and implement globally acclaimed projects under Singapore Government's e-government Action Plans I & II, namely the Public Service Infrastructure (PSi) and OBLS.

OBLS for the Singapore Government won the coveted United Nations Public Service Award in 2005. OBLS is a pivotal one-stop service for businesses which offers an integrated single form application for multiple licenses from over 30 different government agencies in Singapore.

Ecquaria is participating at the inaugural iGov Global Exchange which is held in Singapore from 15 -19th June 2009. Themed "Integrating Public Services, Engaging Citizens", the iGov Global Exchange is organized by the Singapore Ministry of Finance (MOF) and Infocomm Development of Authority Singapore (iDA).

"Through the iGov Global Exchange event, Ecquaria is pleased to share its thought-leading integrated government, iGov concepts and implementation experiences with overseas governments and our partners. The theme we have adopted for the event is called 'Business 360' where we envision empowering businesses and governments with a seamless and unified view of their businesses via a one-stop shop," said Dr Foong Wai Keong, President and CEO, Ecquaria Technologies.

Delegates will have a chance to visit Ecquaria's customer site, the Singapore Health Promotion Board where they can view the Student Health Assessment Programme & Integrated Dental Electronic Assessment for Students (SHAPE/IDEAS) which includes innovative features that support the School Health Services.

The media is welcome to visit the Ecquaria booth at Hall 3, 3D3-10 and talk to our consultants.

Special media interviews can be arranged with our senior management.
