PEMBROKE, Bermuda, Sept 12, 2014 - (ACN Newswire) - Endurance Specialty Holdings Ltd. (NYSE:ENH), a Bermuda-based specialty provider of property and casualty insurance and reinsurance, announced today that John Lavin will join Endurance on September 22nd as Executive Vice President, U.S. Excess & Surplus (E&S) Property. Mr. Lavin has worked closely with wholesale brokers throughout his career to underwrite commercial property risks, including managing a specialty risk portfolio. He will be based in Endurance's Atlanta office, responsible for Endurance's E&S Property insurance operations in Atlanta, Chicago and Los Angeles.
In the last two months, Endurance has also hired a Commercial Property underwriting team in the U.S. with a focus on retail distribution channels, led by Mark Maritzen, Executive Vice President, and a U.K. based Property team to focus on the international market, led by Rupert Cousins.

Mr. Lavin joins Endurance from ACE Westchester Specialty Group, where he started as a Property Underwriter in 2002. He held several roles of increasing responsibility including Specialty Segments Manager, Chicago Branch Manager and, most recently, Eastern Regional Property Manager. Mr. Lavin holds a Bachelors degree in Business Administration in Risk Management/Insurance from the University of Georgia.
