Private and Public Parties to Join Forces During World Congress on IT 2010

Bermuda, Nov 4, 2009 - (ACN Newswire) - At the WITSA meeting in Bermuda, WCIT 2010 announced that IBM, Microsoft, KPN, Capgemini, Intel, Oracle and Siemens will be official partner of WCIT 2010. Earlier Mr. Frank Heemskerk, the Dutch Minister of Foreign Trade, announced the participation of the European Commission in WITSA's 17th World Congress on IT in 2010, as well as the participation of the Spanish Presidency of the European Union in the first half of 2010. That participation builds on a two-way exchange of information on future IT strategies which will lead to the "Digital Road to Recovery". This post-i2010 agenda will be presented to the world at the World Congress on IT in May 2010.

Spanish Presidency European Union: the Digital Road to Recovery

Spain is connected with the World Congress on IT 2010 and will present its plans for Europe's future knowledge society at the world congress in Amsterdam. The WCIT 2010 organization works in close cooperation with Sweden, Spain and Belgium to ensure a solid handover. These countries are the succeeding presidencies of the European Union in the second half of 2009, the first half of 2010 and the second half of 2010. Spain has already put WCIT 2010 on their official presidency 2010 calendar.

Worldwide IT topics

Water, Energy, Mobility, Sharing Space, Cyber Security & Safety, E-Government, E-Health, E-Inclusionand Creative Industries are worldwide IT topics which will be discussed during the WCIT 2010 in so-called tracks. To demonstrate the European Commission's commitment, a representative will be assigned to every one of the tracks. Ambitions are high and are shared by an inspiring theme "Challenges of Change", that will strengthen the long-term impact and value of WCIT 2010. The future of IT and its impact on society will be discussed with the high level delegates coming from all over the world.

World Congress on IT

WITSA's 17th World Congress on Information Technology will take place from 25 to 27 May 2010 in Amsterdam. The World Congress on Information Technology 2010 will be organized in close cooperation between the IT-Industry, IT-users and governmental institutions and is hosted by ICT-Office, the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs and the City of Amsterdam.
