London and Singapore, Nov 17, 2009 - (ACN Newswire) - IR magazine is back in Singapore to host the IR Magazine South East Asia Conference & Awards 2009, a half-day conference and lunchtime awards ceremony highlighting and honoring best practice investor relations from the IR communities in Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and the Philippines.
What to expect from the IR Magazine South East Asia Conference
- Thought-provoking, well-researched agenda - focusing on the issues emerging in the wake of the financial crisis that are most relevant to IROs, their companies and their boards. - High percentage of senior-level investor relations officers - speaking alongside leading regulatory and government authorities and members of the investment community. - The best investor relations networking opportunity of 2009 - meet and mingle with like-minded peers at our conference and awards, which attract the best attendees year on year from a wide range of sectors and market caps.
New for 2009
We are delighted to announce that in 2009 Thomson Reuters Extel Surveys is working in partnership with IR magazine to provide the most comprehensive and complete awards research to date. It will identify and recognize the leading IR practitioners across Asia.
The data and responses collected and compiled by Extel Surveys in 2009 will be used to produce overall IR rankings for each market across the region with separate awards for our three separate awards events. Rankings will be produced by country and by sector, across each award category and with additional breakouts, such as state-owned enterprises and US-listed Chinese companies.
For 2009 the Thomson Reuters Extel Asia-Pacific Survey will provide the most comprehensive, complete view of IR practice and excellence across the Asia-Pacific region.
Research Partner: Extel Surveys
The Thomson Reuters Extel IR Survey is designed to provide companies with a consistent and clear method of assessing the success of the year-round investor relations activity that underpins both the stock price and the company's reputation. The methodology has been drawn up in consultation with leading IR professionals, fund managers and analysts, and reflects their chief concerns.
There will be three separate awards events in 2009: the IR Magazine South East Asia Awards in Singapore, the IR Magazine Hong Kong & Taiwan Awards in Hong Kong, and the IR Magazine China Awards in Shanghai. In Singapore awards will be presented in the following categories:
- Grand prix for best overall investor relations - Best investor relations professional - Best investor relations by a CEO - Best investor relations by a CFO - Most progress in investor relations - Best annual report/formal disclosure - Best investor relations website/webcasting - Best investment meetings/one-on-ones - Best corporate governance - Best investor relations for a corporate transaction - Best investor relations by a Malaysian company - Best investor relations by a Philippine company - Best investor relations by a Thai company - Best investor relations by an Indonesian company
The survey runs from September 7 to October 16, 2009.
But It's Not All About Winning
Obviously, there can be only one winner in each category. But the other companies listed in the research also represent some of the best people in the field. Being named in the research survey means a company's IR efforts have made an impression on the investment community. Therefore, we award Certificates of Excellence to those companies meeting a designated threshold of significant number of mentions in the survey. The certificate recognizes the significant efforts many IR teams have made throughout the year.
