Offering advanced visualization and automation through an alliance with UBiqube |
TOKYO, Apr 24, 2017 - (JCN Newswire) - Fujitsu today announced that it has entered into a business and capital alliance with UBiqube PLC, a Dublin, Ireland-based developer of orchestration software products. The alliance seeks to strengthen integrated operations management solutions connecting products and services offered to customers who are telecom operators, corporations, and local governments operating and managing large-scale networks. UBiqube's software features numerous flexible application programming interfaces (APIs) to rapidly provide advanced visualization of network data and status, as well as automation of service operations and management. Through this alliance, Fujitsu will strengthen its ability to quickly provide integrated operations and management solutions that connect products and services, utilizing UBiqube's product as the framework for the Fujitsu Network Virtuora series, Fujitsu's virtualized operations and management solution. In this way, Fujitsu will contribute to the provision of strategic services by customers and to reducing their deployment and operations costs. 1. Background
Network complexity is growing along with the implementation of new Software-Defined Networking (SDN) and Network Function Virtualization (NFV) technologies, and development of new services such as the cloud, managed security and IoT. Customers are facing issues associated with managing numerous physical devices or virtualized resources in multi-vendor environments. With the advance of IoT services going forward, network operations will become even more complicated, such as requiring appropriate threat prevention across the entire network infrastructure. In order to optimally manage a network that changes day by day, there is a need for integrated operations that encompass datacenters to WANs and devices to be integrated, and for them to be rapidly and automatically controlled. 2. Aims and Effects of the Alliance
Fujitsu is providing software products and solutions focused on SDN and NFV based on Virtuora series concepts, working to visualize and automate networks and services. By incorporating UBiqube's software into Virtuora, Fujitsu is strengthening its framework in order to rapidly and flexibly develop a variety of applications. By using this framework to develop different applications, such as security operations and virtualization operations, Fujitsu is quickly realizing new and stronger solutions that meet customers' needs, such as automating the development of services with network and security infrastructure in multi-vendor environments, and providing new value to customers. Beginning in April 2017, Fujitsu plans to sell UBiqube's MSActivator product as a software package under the name "Virtuora SA powered by UBiqube." Fujitsu aims to achieve 100 billion yen in revenue over the next five years from the sale of related software and solution packages, as well as in network integration and managed services. 3. Value Offered to Customers
As customers develop new services, and as their businesses evolve, their network operations also change day by day. By immediately tracking those changes (strengthening agility in network operations), customers can enhance the competitiveness of their businesses. By meeting the network operations needs of customers, Fujitsu is strongly supporting their digital transformations. Security Business Case Study
When a company undergoes an organizational change, people are transferred, or companies are split up or merged, policy changes for a variety of related security equipment becomes necessary. Previously, because each organization operated on respective networked devices, operating costs increased in accordance with the scale of the changes, and there was a possibility that errors would occur. With this solution, companies can have unified operations across organizations and related companies, and by automating policy setting tasks, costs can be significantly reduced regardless of the scale of the changes. Comment from Nabil Souli, CEO, UBiqube
As one of the greatest global IT integrators and technology provider, Fujitsu represents a fantastic strategic partner for UBiqube and will significantly accelerate the market penetration of our cutting edge Orchestration Software. This partnership will be instrumental in furthering the innovation pace in the network and security industry which is undergoing a massive paradigm change as virtualization becomes the de facto standard and as integration with IoT and M2M emerges. As Telcos and enterprises alike seek to ease and automate their management of these rapidly changing and heterogeneous technologies, I believe they will appreciate the agility by design of the MSActivator combined with the Fujitsu Virtuora portfolio as well as the industry recognized integration and support capabilities Fujitsu is famous for.
