Hydro Selects Fujitsu as Global IT Infrastructure Services Outsourcing Provider

OSLO, NORWAY, June 30, 2010 - (ACN Newswire) - Fujitsu, one of the world's leading IT service providers, has today entered into a six-year global delivery agreement with Norsk Hydro ASA, one of the world's leading integrated aluminium companies. The agreement covers full outsourcing and development of Hydro's IT infrastructure services systems in Norway and abroad.

Hydro Selects Fujitsu as Global IT Infrastructure Services Outsourcing Provider

- The agreement established today with Fujitsu, is based on mutual respect and an optimal collaboration model, which we have developed together. When selecting our supplier we have focused particularly on competency, flexibility, global presence and a secure and stable operation at a competitive cost level, says Stig Heggelund, CIO, Hydro.

About the agreement

Under the terms of the agreement, Fujitsu will be responsible for an integrated and end-to-end service delivery that covers both on-site and remote services across Hydro's business areas. The agreement also covers server hosting and administration, PC, LAN, storage systems, 24/7 multilingual service desks, application hosting and collaboration systems. The six-year global delivery agreement is based on a one-year transition period followed by a five-year outsourcing agreement. The agreement goes into effect in September 2010 and includes IT systems in 40 countries.

Growing together

- Hydro is far ahead of most companies in Norway and globally when it comes to highly innovative manufacturing solutions. In their selection of outsourcing provider they have therefore set high demands for flexible IT solutions, competency and predictability. We are proud and humble that Hydro experiences Fujitsu as the most suitable service provider for their business in Norway and abroad and our goal is to grow together with Hydro as a valued and trusted partner, says Kjell-Erik Tenold, Managing Director, Fujitsu Norway.

- We are very excited about signing with yet another global Nordic corporation. This type of agreement underpins Fujitsu's position as a leading Nordic and global IT provider with a strong portfolio. Having a close relationship to our customers is essential for Fujitsu and our understanding of Hydro's business operations has been a positive factor in the negotiations. Hydro has an extensive business, and the task we now embark on will be both rewarding and challenging, says Bengt Engstrm, CEO, Fujitsu Nordic.
