Centron Telecom Enters the Antenna Market in Indonesia and Vietnam

HONG KONG, Nov 1, 2010 - (ACN Newswire) - Centron Telecom International Holdings Limited ("Centron Telecom" or the "Group") (HKSE:1155), a specialist in the R&D, production and sale of mobile telecommunication and mobile digital television network coverage products and network optimisation solutions, announced that it has signed antenna production projects with Telemedia Pacific Group Limited in Indonesia and with Vietnam Mobile Telecom Services Company in Vietnam. In the upcoming year, the Group is to provide more than 50,000 antennas for the two companies, with a value exceeding RMB100 million.

Mr. Yi Zhangtao, Executive Director of Centron Telecom, said, "We have recently seen rapid development in the telecom equipment business in Indonesia and Vietnam. In particular, the demand for antennas as part of the optimisation of both their wireless communications networks has been constantly growing, showing immense market potential. We are pleased to have captured these business opportunities and the projects should bring valuable experience to the Group for expanding into other overseas telecom markets."

Centron Telecom's products earned very high grades among the other companies participating in both tenders. The two projects mark major breakthroughs for the Group to enter the communications markets in Indonesia and Vietnam, and lay a solid foundation for further cooperation in the region. The projects are expected to facilitate further expansion of business in these markets.

In August this year, the Group signed a strategic cooperative agreement to collaborate in the wireless base-station antenna business with Xi'an Haitian Antenna Technologies Co., Ltd (HKSE:8227). Through this agreement the Group has mastered development of leading-edge products and technologies for mobile communications base station antennas within a short time which greatly supports the Group's expansion of its antenna business.

Mr Yi added, "Haitian Antenna's has been focusing on the development of the next generation mobile communications base station antennas. Our strategic partner will also collaborate with us to develop a next generation mobile TV network coverage antenna system to support the China Mobile Multimedia Broadcasting (CMMB) standard, to prepare for the huge demand in the upcoming future. China Mobile has completed the procurement of 6 million TD-SCDMA handsets featuring mobile TV functions early last month. It plans to invest another RMB30 billion to procure 30 million TD-SCDMA handsets next year. This initiative is expected to bring sustainable growth opportunities to our antennas business."
