BANGKOK, Oct 22, 2012 - (ACN Newswire) - Now in its second decade, the foremost conference on corporate social responsibility makes it way once again to Thailand on October 25 and 26, 2012. Organized by the Asian Institute of Management - Ramon V. del Rosario Center for Corporate Social Responsibility (AIM-RVR) and Intel Corporation, the forum returns to Bangkok to hold the 11th AFCSR at the Shangri-La Hotel.
More than 500 delegates from 31 countries will hear from 55 CSR international and local experts, among them are George S. Tahija, President Director of PT Austindo Nusantara Jaya in Indonesia; former Ambassador Delia Domingo-Albert, Senior Advisor of SGV & Co in the Philippines; Dato Paduka Timothy Ong, Founder and Chairman of the Asia Inc Forum in Brunei Darussalam and Takeshi Miyamoto, Secretary General of the United Nations Global Compact Network in Japan.
H.E. Anand Panyarachun, founding chairman of the Kenan Institute Asia, a non-profit organization that works toward sustainable development in Thailand, will also be the Special Guest of Honor on the first day of the conference.
As in past AFCSR conferences, this year's theme Innovative Approaches to Create Value for Business and Society is supported by a social innovation framework that encompasses development, implementation, assessment and embedding of corporate social responsibility into the organization. Four special tracks are covered in the program, including Innovation Approaches, Engaging and Collaborating, Heavy Footprint, and Social Entrepreneurship and Development.
The forum will be capped off by the Asian CSR Awards Ceremonies and Gala Dinner, with H.E. Yingluck Shinawatra, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand as the Guest of Honor. More than 300 programs from 88 companies in 13 countries submitted entries for the Awards, where accolades will be given in the focus areas of Value Chain Management, Governance and Society, Labor and Employee Engagement, and Product Responsibility and Consumer Rights. The Intel-AIM Corporate Responsibility Award (IACRA) will be given to the company that has taken a fully-embedded approach to CSR across all the four focus areas and has implemented projects that not only have a significant impact but are also sustainable in all appropriate areas of operations.
