Development of the Local Machine Tool Industry Evident at MTA VIETNAM2013

HO CHI MINH CITY, VIETNAM, July 2, 2013 - (ACN Newswire) - With the recent surge in Foreign Direct Investments (FDIs) in the manufacturing sector, the demand for capital goods in Vietnam has also risen significantly creating impetus for growth of the machine tool industry.

Local machine tool suppliers, riding on the swell of production facilities in the country have experienced healthy returns over the last few years. This growth is reflected at MTA VIETNAM - the largest industry event of its kind in Vietnam. The show has seen an increase in local participation since its inauguration in 2005. This year, there are 67 exhibitors from Vietnam, garnering an 83% increase in exhibition space compared to the last edition of the show.

Local industry pioneers TAT Machinery Corporation, Van Su Loi and OLAS, evidently benefitting from the influx of demand for machine tools have all taken up significantly larger booths this year.

Veteran exhibitor Mr. Hang Lian Bang, CEO of OLAS, a leading supplier of industrial laser and high-tech machines in Vietnam says, "We have exhibited at MTA VIETNAM since 2006, and have always had a good show. This year, we are showcasing our Servo Electric punching machine E5X from PrimaPower - Italy/Finland, for the first time as we believe that MTA VIETNAM2013 is the ideal platform to introduce it to the industry."

MTA VIETNAM2013 also has a number of first time local exhibitors showcasing a variety of manufacturing solutions from laser machines to measurement devices and welding equipment. They include:

- Cn Cty Tnhh Bibus Viet Nam Tai Tp HCM
- Cong Ty Tnhh Mot Thanh Vien Ky Thuat H-Tek
- ITO Vietnam Company Limited
- Van Phong Dai Dien Han's Laser Technology Co Ltd
- Vietnam Precision Industrial Joint Stock Company
- Welding Technology and Equipment Co Ltd
- VMS

On the impact the increase in local participation has on MTA VIETNAM, Mr. Tee Boon Teong, Deputy Chief Representative, Singapore Exhibition Services' Representative Office in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, organisers of MTA VIETNAM2013 says, "When we started the MTA series in Vietnam in 2005 only 10 per cent of exhibitors were local firms, this year, the number has doubled to 20 per cent. As the manufacturing industry in Vietnam continues to grow, so does the demand of machine tools. This creates a healthy market for local representatives of international brands such as Big Daishowa Davi, Flow, Haas Automation, Studer and Sumitomo Electric Hardmetal as they definitely benefit from the exposure to big buyers from homegrown firms as well as international companies that have local operations. This is a healthy reflection of Vietnam's growing capabilities in manufacturing."

Skills Competition and Seminar highlights at MTA VIETNAM2013

In addition to a bigger number of local exhibitors, MTA VIETNAM2013 also has a series of seminars by industry leaders that cover a host of issues pertinent to the local sector. Delegates will get the opportunity to listen to experts speak about the growing prominence of Vietnam's welding technology, as well as gather information on the latest trends and solutions for important aspects of the manufacturing industry, such as productivity, quality, management, design and machining.

Making its debut at MTA VIETNAM is the Vietnam Welding Skills Competition organised by the Vietnam Welding Society. Spread across three days, the seminars include Vietnam's Welding Technology - Today And The Future Vision organised by the Vietnam Welding Society; Using Management Tools to Improve Quality in Manufacturing Industries organised by Vietnam Association of Testing Laboratories - VinaLab; and New approach to Design, Machining & Manufacturing organised by Multi Engineering Solutions Laboratory - MESLAB.

As the manufacturing industry in Vietnam continues to develop, supporting industries will also need to keep up. Looking to the future, MTA VIETNAM hopes to be the platform that delivers a holistic experience that caters to the whole spectrum of industry needs," adds Mr. Tee.

Featuring 341 exhibitors from 21 countries/regions, and 11 international group pavilions, MTA VIETNAM2013 is held from 2 - 5 July at the Saigon Exhibition & Convention Center.
