AETN All Asia Networks and MDA Announce Search for a HISTORY Host and New Co-Investment Partnership

SINGAPORE, July 29, 2009 - (ACN Newswire) - AETN All Asia Networks (AAA Networks), Media Development Authority of Singapore (MDA) and Beach House Pictures today launched an open call throughout Asia to search for an Asian host for a 4 x 1 hour programme, to be aired on HISTORY(R). The successful host will stand to win US$10,000 and host at least four episodes of the series which will uncover some of the secrets and fascinating stories from the lesser-known parts of Asia. Interested applicants are invited to apply via www.historyasia.com before 15 September 2009.

AAA Networks also announced the commission of a 6 x 30 minutes series, which will be aired on the Crime & Investigation Network. To be helmed by Singapore company Very!, the series will examine the crucial roles and tools used in crime solving. These two original series kick off a two-year Co-investment partnership between AAA Networks and MDA to support Singapore-based media companies in the production of series or one-off specials, complete with digital media components to offer a 360 degree viewing experience, for HISTORY(R), The Biography Channel(R) and Crime & Investigation Network(R) - branded channels distributed by AAA Networks.

Said Louis Boswell, General Manager, AAA Networks: "We are extremely pleased to announce this partnership with the MDA for co-investment in original programme productions. We have high hopes for the two series which are already commissioned and particularly look forward to seeing the first Asian host on one of our productions."

Added Dr Christopher Chia, Chief Executive Officer, MDA: "This collaboration with AAA Networks will help Singapore companies to leverage digital media and adopt a 360 degree approach in creating original intellectual properties for multiple platforms and formats. It is also an opportunity for Singapore media talents to develop compelling content and stories of varied genres for today's international audience."
