Hua Hong Semiconductor Partners with Lexvu to Launch World's Smallest Barometer

HONG KONG, Mar 13, 2015 - (ACN Newswire) - Hua Hong Semiconductor Limited ("Hua Hong Semiconductor" or the "Company", together with its subsidiaries, the "Group", stock code: 1347), a leading pure-play 200mm foundry in the world, and Shanghai Lexvu Opto Microelectronics Technology Co., Ltd. ("Lexvu") announced today to jointly launch the world's smallest barometer PS3606, which adopts Hua Hong Semiconductor's innovative MEMS manufacturing technology and Lexvu's single-chip integrated sensor solution, with a total thickness of 0.45 mm (the package dimensions of sensor product is 1.1 x 0.9 x 0.45 mm3). This product is also the first single-chip CMOS-MEMS integrated barometer adopted Wafer Level Packaging for consumer electronics on the global market.

The barometer PS3606 is developed by Lexvu based on the 200mm CMOS-MEMS platform from Hua Hong Semiconductor. It adopts the most advanced Wafer Level Packaging technology, giving it the smallest dimension in global industry. With this advantage, the packaging and testing costs are greatly reduced. Meanwhile, this high-performance barometer used the CMOS-MEMS single-chip integration solution originally created by Lexvu with high accuracy, stable system and strong anti-jamming capability. Since the product has its own intellectual property right, it became a remarkable representative of domestic self-developed sensor.

Key parameters of PS3606:
Pressure range: 30-110 kPa;
Package: 8-pin WLP package, package dimensions 1.1 x 0.9 x 0.45 mm3;
Absolute accuracy: +/- 0.1 kPa (95-105 kPa, 0-40 degrees centigrade );
Resolution: 1Pa (95-105kPa, 25 degrees centigrade );
Accuracy of temperature sensor: +/- 0.1 degrees centigrade .

With wide application on the electronics market including smartphones, UAVs(Unmanned Aerial Vehicle), air cleaners, and intelligent wearable devices, etc., PS3606 will be started by sample delivery and customer marketing in April this year, and the volume production is expected to commence in the second half of 2015.
