HONG KONG, Mar 30, 2015 - (ACN Newswire) - A trio of technology-focused trade fairs is set to welcome more than 4,600 exhibitors at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) next month. The three fairs, organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) are the Hong Kong International Lighting Fair (Spring Edition) from 6 to 9 April as well as the Hong Kong Electronics Fair (Spring Edition) and International ICT Expo, both of which open on 13 April and continue through 16 April.

Spring Electronics, ICT and Lighting Fairs Coming Soon

Lighting Fair

The seventh edition of the Lighting Fair (Spring Edition) has attracted more than 1,200 exhibitors, setting a new fair record. They are coming from 12 countries and regions to take part in this exciting event. New exhibitors from Germany, Hungary, the Netherlands, Russia and the United Kingdom will join for the first time.

New to the fair this year is the World of Professional & Industrial Lighting zone with almost 40 exhibitors featuring a wide array of professional lighting fixtures and applications for specific uses and industrial environments, such as emergency and safety lighting, architectural lighting and large venue lighting.

The thirst for environmentally friendly and "smart" products, such as energy-saving light bulbs with App-controlled functions, and the increasing trend of cross-over lighting fixtures and other electric appliances are continuing to fuel buyer interest at the fair.

Themed zones at the four-day fair offer global buyers a myriad of opportunities to boost their business. The LED & Green Lighting zone, comprising indoor and outdoor lighting categories, is the largest area of the fair with nearly 500 exhibitors. Hall of Aurora gathers over 240 leading brands, such as Ervan, Ford, Gentos, TCL and Viribright.

Lighting The Way

The day-long Asian Lighting Forum on 8 April will comprise two sessions; "Global Market Trends on Lighting Product Development" and "Commercial/Technical Lighting Applications". Meanwhile, winning designs of the eighth Hong Kong Lighting Design Competition will be showcased at the Display Area of Hall 1C Concourse throughout the fair period.

Electric Dreams

The 12th edition of the Hong Kong Electronics Fair (13-16 April), the largest Spring electronics event for the industry in Asia, will welcome close to 2,800 exhibitors from 21 countries and regions.

Plugged In

Wearable technology and home connectivity will feature prominently at the event with the introduction of three new zones. The debut Wearable Electronics zone includes over 40 exhibitors displaying a variety of high-tech products including watches with tracking, entertainment and health-related functions. The new Connected Home zone introduces the application of Internet of Things (IoT) for home automation. It will showcase products that allow users to remotely control electrical appliances and infra-red devices at home. Another new zone is Unmanned Tech which will feature the latest remote-controlled gadgets from airborne cameras to drones and much more.

The Hall of Fame returns with more than 430 exhibitors and some 570 leading brands, such as Bigben, Coway, Ford, Hyundai, Intel, Motorola and Polaroid. Microsoft will also have a debut presence at the fair's Exhibitor's Showroom. The latest innovations can be found in the Invention Zone with over 20 products from Hong Kong, the Chinese mainland, Korea and Taiwan.

Tracking Trends

The Electronics Fair also features seminars covering topical issues including wearable electronics, 3D printing technology, and trends and innovations in consumer electronics, as well as regulatory updates. Networking events and product demonstrations and launches will be held throughout the fair period.

ICT Highlights

The concurrent International ICT Expo will feature close to 600 exhibitors from 13 countries and regions. There are six pavilions this year, coming from Australia, Canada, the Chinese mainland, India, Korea and New Zealand.

The Office of Government Chief Information Officer will launch a new "iStartup@HK" area at this year's expo to showcase start-up ideas from over 20 local companies. Incubators including Cyberport and the Hong Kong Science & Technology Parks Corporation, as well as pavilions from Canada, India and Korea will bring start-up entrepreneurs and innovators to the expo to meet potential business partners.

Apps Galore

The Apps Zone will gather around 20 exhibitors showcasing the latest mobile Apps. City University of Hong Kong's Apps Lab introduces its "Posture Check App" which helps users monitor their posture. Other mobile applications featured at the expo can help users to plan events, monitor a child's location and even forecast the demand at food outlets to help reduce waste.

Free Consultations

Such global brands as Google, Microsoft and Yahoo will participate in this year's SME IT Clinic, where SMEs can receive free professional consultation services. Industry heavyweights will also provide insights on popular topics, namely "Mobile Cloud Technology" by Microsoft, "Online Business Setup & Marketing" by Google and Shopline, "e-Commerce Strategy" by Yahoo and Paypal as well as "Database Application" by SoftLayer, an IBM Company. The Hong Kong Computer Society and Cyberport join hands again to organise the "China-Hong Kong-Taiwan Hackathon 2015 Finalists' Sharing Session". Meanwhile, the International IT Fest Trade Chamber Series comprises seminars on cloud computing, smart retailing and digital marketing trends.
