TOKYO, Apr 27, 2015 - (JCN Newswire) - NEC Corporation (NEC; TSE: 6701) announced today the introduction of "SAP Business By Design" cloud-based enterprise resource planning (ERP) service to three of Suntory Beverage & Food Asia Pte.Ltd.'s newly-established subsidiaries in Singapore, Malaysia and Hong Kong in collaboration with Suntory Business Expert Limited.
SAP Business ByDesign is a cloud-based service geared towards midsized locations of global companies that features a wide range of functions including accounting, sales, marketing, inventory, purchasing, and supply chain management.
In 2014, NEC announced the signing of a global cooperative agreement with SAP in relation to its SAP Business ByDesign business. Based on this agreement, NEC has launched the "NEC Global Localization Package for SAP Business By Design" by adding functionalities to address country-specific legal regulations and business practices and is offering the package in six Southeast Asian countries, including Singapore and Malaysia. For this Suntory Group project, NEC utilized a localization package to achieve the simultaneous launch of mission-critical systems at three locations within a short six-month period.
Looking ahead, NEC will continue to contribute to the growth strategies of global companies by supporting the construction of group-wide business management and supply chain management (SCM) systems through the provision of the NEC Global Localization Package for SAP Business ByDesign.
NEC was also awarded the SAP AWARD OF EXCELLENCE 2015 "Project Award" for the successful completion of this project.
