TOKYO, Mar 10, 2016 - (JCN Newswire) - NEC Corporation (NEC; TSE: 6701) and the Kiyosato Educational Experiment Project (KEEP) today announced that they will hold an environmental education program, the "NEC World Children's Nature Club," for three days from March 19 to 21. This program will provide children from China, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Philippines and Taiwan with an opportunity to exchange ideas and information using IT and communications technologies.
NEC World Children's Nature Club, started in 2008, is held every year to help children develop an awareness of the natural environment and a global perspective. It also helps to affirm the potential of using IT and communications technologies within environmental education. This year, children from Indonesia will take part in the program for the first time. The children from the six regions will experience nature firsthand and enjoy cross-cultural exchange through a video conference system with the help of NEC local affiliates in each region.
"NEC globally conducts activities based on its Principles for Conserving Biodiversity to contribute to biodiversity conservation, which is one of the pillars of the NEC Group Environmental Management Action Plan 2017/2030," said Naoko Morizane, Department Manager, CSR Promotion and Social Contributions Office, NEC Corporation.
