TOKYO, June 17, 2016 - (JCN Newswire) - NEC Corporation (NEC; TSE: 6701) and Netcracker Technology today announced their participation in the OPNFV Summit 2016 in Berlin, Germany, June 20-23, at the InterContinental Berlin.
NEC is a platinum member of the Open Platform for Network Functions Virtualization (OPNFV) and a Gold Sponsor for this year's OPNFV Summit, where the company will be involved in numerous sessions and panels as well as exhibit SDN/NFV solutions, including Management and Network Orchestration (MANO) and NEC Cloud Solutions at stand B04.
NEC's contributions to OPNFV include an active role as a Project Lead of the OPNFV's "Doctor" project, where fast and dynamic fault management in OpenStack will be presented at the OPNFV Proof-of-Concept (PoC) Zone(1). The Doctor PoC, hosted by NTT DOCOMO, is a completely community-driven activity to demonstrate OPNFV's achievement in upstream development, pure Open Source Software (OSS) integration and validation of enhanced fault management solutions in NFV-based platforms.
