TOKYO, Sept 14, 2016 - (JCN Newswire) - NEC Corporation (TSE: 6701) today announced its participation in InnoTrans 2016, one of the transport industry's main international events for demonstrating transport technology and solutions. InnoTrans 2016 will be held from the 20th - 23rd September at Messe Berlin GmbH, ExpoCenter City.
Recent years have seen an increasing focus within the Public Transport industry on delivering both better services and better returns on investment. At InnoTrans 2016, NEC will address these trends by showcasing innovative solutions and services, such as transportation management systems (TMS) that can be delivered from the cloud. This relatively new approach to service delivery in Public Transport is gaining a great deal of attention as public transportation authorities (PTA) and public transportation operators (PTO) learn how they can quickly roll out new, open architecture services with a minimum of investment. In addition to cloud services, NEC will also introduce a new facial recognition solution for passenger safety, E-paper passenger information displays, as well as REFLEX - a bus optimization software solution that improves service regularity and punctuality by computing real-time control measures for an entire fleet.
"We are very excited to show that in addition to great technologies, new service models also bring value to our customers," said Elsa Wong, Managing Director of the NEC Transport Centre of Excellence. "In these times of uncertainty and austerity, the whole industry needs to be looking at new approaches to improving service levels and customer experience. NEC believes that service and subscription models are the way forward."
NEC will exhibit at InnoTrans 2016 in Hall 6.1, Stand 310 from the 20th - 23rd September at Messe Berlin GmbH, ExpoCenter City.
