7,300+ Exhibitors, New Startup Zone to Set Product Trends |
HONG KONG, Apr 11, 2017 - (ACN Newswire) - Four major trade fairs organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) will open later this month. The Hong Kong Houseware Fair and the Hong Kong International Home Textiles and Furnishings Fair will run 20-23 April at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC). The Hong Kong Gifts & Premium Fair will take place 27-30 April at the HKCEC, while the concurrent Hong Kong International Printing & Packaging Fair, jointly organised with CIEC Exhibition Company (HK) Ltd, will be held at AsiaWorld-Expo. The four fairs will welcome more than 7,300 exhibitors from 36 countries and regions. The HKTDC has organised about 300 buying missions comprising more than 14,000 companies from around the world to visit the four fairs.
Brand name zones at three fairs
"Brands are among the most important considerations when consumers make purchase decisions," said Benjamin Chau, HKTDC Acting Executive Director. "A brand not only enhances a product's appeal, but also customer loyalty. Therefore, we always encourage Hong Kong companies to build their own brands."
To meet consumer demand for branded products, the Hall of Elegance at the Houseware Fair, the Hall of Glamour at the Home Textiles and Furnishings Fair, and the Hall of Fine Designs at the Gifts & Premium Fair will feature renowned brands and designer collections from over 130 exhibitors.
Supporting start-ups
In line with Hong Kong government policy to promote entrepreneurship, a new Startup Zone will be launched at the Houseware Fair and Gifts & Premium Fair. "Many creative young entrepreneurs are bringing new ideas and innovative products to the market. The new Startup Zone will allow start-ups to exhibit at the fairs at lower cost, connecting them with buyers and potential business partners. They can discover even more business opportunities by presenting their products and business ideas to buyers and investors at the "Startup. Smart Launch" pitching session.
Houseware Fair's "LIFE" themes to unveil design trends
The 32nd edition of the Hong Kong Houseware Fair - the largest event of its kind in Asia - is expected to welcome more than 2,200 exhibitors from 27 countries and regions. This year's main theme will be "LIFE" which stands for its four themed zones: Lifestyle, Interior, Feast and Enrich. To highlight these themes, the HKTDC will collaborate for the first time with A+A Design Studio, a well-known Italian trend-forecasting agency, to set up four trend forecast displays, and to unveil Spring/Summer 2018 design trends with a wide spectrum of houseware and interior design elements.
Zones under the "Lifestyle" theme include the "Hall of Elegance", "World of Fine Dining", "World of Fine Decor", "World of Pet Supplies", "Green Living", and the debut "Coffee Alley".
The "Interior" theme covers the "Interior Decor", "Festive Decor", "Best of ASEAN", and "Creative Arts & Cultural Craft" zones.
The "Feast" theme covers the "Tableware", "Wine Tools & Accessories", "Kitchenware & Gadgets", "Home Appliances" and the new "HORECA" zone.
Under the "Enrich" theme are various zones including "Homepedia", "Baby Products", "Bath Beauty & Healthcare", "Home Cleaning & Laundry", "Storage Solutions", "Outdoor & Gardening" and the inaugural "World of Building & Hardware" zone. The latter will showcase quality building materials, hardware & DIY tools, as well as sanitary ware - aiming to attract buyers and interior designers looking for the latest items for interior and contracting work.
Opportunities at Home Textiles and Furnishings Fair
Held concurrently with the Houseware Fair, the Home Textiles and Furnishings Fair will draw more than 290 exhibitors from eight countries and regions, including new exhibitors from Belgium and Vietnam. Nantong city in the Chinese mainland's Jiangsu Province, dubbed the "Hometown of Textiles", and textiles organisations from India will also return to set up group pavilions. In line with the Houseware Fair, the Home Textiles and Furnishings Fair will adopt the "Interior" theme and showcase a variety of home textiles, upholstery and furnishing products. The premium "Hall of Glamour" zone will feature quality brands and designer collections, covering products such as bedding, curtains, carpets and towels.
World's largest gifts and premium fair
The world's largest gifts fair, the Hong Kong Gifts & Premium Fair will welcome more than 4,300 exhibitors from 31 countries and regions. The Hong Kong Exporters' Association will set up "Smart Design Village", "Brand Oasis" and "Isle of Originality" zones at the fair to showcase quality products from Hong Kong companies to global buyers. Winning pieces selected in the Hong Kong Smart Design Awards will be on display to present exquisite local designs to buyers.
As the gifts industry covers a wide variety of items, the fair will feature various product zones covering corporate gifts, green gifts, tech gifts, fashion jewellery & accessories, party & festive items, as well as the new "Licensed Gifts" and "Hair Ornament & Accessories" zones. Various participating countries and regions, including the Chinese mainland, India, Italy, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan and the United Kingdom, will establish group pavilions to present their unique products.
Printing & Packaging Fair caters to all industries
The Printing & Packaging Fair will take place alongside the Gifts & Premium Fair, and is expecting more than 430 exhibitors from seven countries and regions. Two new zones will be introduced this year - "Innovative Retail Display Solutions" will feature creative eye-catching display solutions, while "Printing and Packaging Solutions for Fashion & Accessories" will present printing and packaging technologies and services catering to the fashion industry's distinctive needs.
Other highlight zones include the "De Luxe Zone" for high-end packaging products and "Green Printing & Packaging Solutions" which will encompass eco-friendly printing and packaging solutions. The range of thematic zones also includes "Digital Printing & 3D Printing" and "Food & Beverage Packaging Solutions". The fair will provide suitable printing and packaging solutions dedicated to manufacturing, retailing, food & beverage and other services industries.
Networking opportunities abound
To enrich the buying experience at the four fairs, a range of seminars will be organised to explore the latest industry developments. These include seminars on pet product trends on the Chinese mainland and in Hong Kong, on selling into the North American promotional products market, and on personalised packaging. Fashion and design trends forecasting company WGSN will also discuss product trends for houseware and home textiles in 2018.
At the "International Kitchenette", chefs will conduct cooking demonstrations of various delicacies using cookware from exhibitors. Buyers can also check out the latest products at Product Demo & Launch Pad sessions and meet with industry players at networking receptions to capture more business opportunities.
