Fujitsu Earns Top Rating in CDP Climate, Water Evaluation

TOKYO, Oct 24, 2017 - (JCN Newswire) - Fujitsu Limited today announced that the Fujitsu Group has been selected for the CDP's A List for both water and climate, earning the highest rating in the CDP's evaluation of corporate activities in response to climate change and the management of water resources.

The Fujitsu Group aims to create a prosperous and sustainable society while contributing solutions to societal and environmental issues by putting into practice its medium- to long-term environmental vision, the Fujitsu Climate and Energy Vision. Fujitsu plans to decarbonize its own business by 2050 using ICT and work to mitigate and adapt to climate change through its business activities.

CDP is an international non-profit organization that surveys companies about their responses to climate change and their management of water resources, on behalf of institutional investors that have total investment assets in excess of $100 trillion. In 2017, more than 3,000 companies were surveyed worldwide.

The Fujitsu Group's Initiatives in Climate Change and Water Management

The Fujitsu Group laid out its medium- to long-term environmental vision, the Fujitsu Climate and Energy Vision, in May 2017. The group is working to achieve both zero CO2 emissions from its own business and create a decarbonized society through the use of AI and other technologies that support digital transformation. Also, the group is taking measures to mitigate and adapt to climate change through its business activities, and for example, contributes to the construction of more resilient social infrastructure. In addition, as part of the Fujitsu Group Environmental Action Plan (Stage VIII) which set environmental targets for the three years following fiscal 2016, Fujitsu is making efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions across its entire value chain while working to reduce the volume of water it uses through such measures as recycling purified water and saving water at manufacturing sites.
