NEC Takes Passenger Experiences to New Heights at the Future Travel Experience Asia Expo 2018

TOKYO, Nov 8, 2018 - (JCN Newswire) - NEC Corporation (TSE: 6701) announced today its participation in the Future Travel Experience (FTE) Asia Expo 2018 from 13 to 14 November, at the Marina Bay Sands Singapore, Hall A, booth no. D41.

In recent years, a surge in the volume of international travelers has posed a number of important challenges, including the enhancement of border security and the provision of a smooth and fulfilling travel experience.

NEC's Smart, Secure and Seamless Travel concept takes travel experiences to new heights, without sacrificing security, by providing integrated identity management across the travel process, allowing passengers to authenticate their identity online or in person utilizing biometric information and ensuring efficient flow within airports.

The NEC booth at FTE Asia Expo 2018 will showcase a series of solutions for realizing this concept, including;

Digital Identity: Using machine learning and NEC's "Liveness Detection" technology, this solution enables a smarter and more secure way for Digital ID login to online web services, such as online check-in and flight booking, using facial recognition technologies.

Walkthrough Gates: Powered by NEC's facial recognition AI engine "NeoFace," which has been recognized as the world's most accurate, this automated gate cross-matches and authenticates passengers' identities at immigration and boarding check-points, eliminating the need to show physical documents such as passports or boarding passes.

Passenger Flow Management: By analyzing passengers' location data collected by various cameras and sensors at check-points, this solution provides real-time insights about passenger movement throughout the airport journey, allowing operators to come up with better ideas to achieve smooth and efficient flow, increase revenue and enhance security.
